Chiropratic team
As of half January (2009) Liesbeth de Hoop will join the chiropractic team of the practice (picture). Liesbeth is an experienced chiropractor with ample experience in the treatment of adults and special training and experience in the treatment of babies and children. The coming year she will take over part of the agenda of Wim Brussee, who is going to follow an thorough postgraduate training program in the field of sports chiropractic. In view of the arrival of Liesbeth de Hoop the practice arranges for an Open Access day on January 24th 2009. Moreover, the practice will arrange for evening presentations on ‘Chiropractic and Babies and Children’ throughout the course of the year. These events will be announced through the website.

Postgraduate program
As of January 2009 I will be following an thorough postgraduate program especially in the field of sports chiropractic. The time consumption for this program will be to such an extent that I unfortunately will have to cut down in my working hours in the practice, temporarily. To fill the open spaces in the agenda Liesbeth de Hoop will join our team of chiropractors.

Sunday 18 May at 15:00 hr an exhibition by Hanneke van Os will open at Chiropractic Clinic Brussee at Laan van Wateringseveld 1000 in The Hague. The young artist from the Onderstroom foundation at Oosteinde will show a combination of free work and contract work for the coming months.

ECU 2008 Convention in Brussels
The chiropractors Wim Brussee and Bob Bonnemayers attend the ECU 2008 Convention in Brussels. ECU stands for European Chiropractor’s Union. The ECU convention is a yearly event organized by the ECU in Europe on a yearly basis.

the Dutch Association for Sports Chiropractic (NVSC) was officially accepted
During the latest plenary members meeting of the Netherlands Chiropractors Association (NCA), the Dutch Association for Sports Chiropractic (NVSC) was officially accepted as a sub-association of the NCA. The NVSC is an association of chiropractors who have been specialized in sports chiropractic. The sub-association was set up by Wim Brussee (chair) and Bob Bonnemayers (secretary).

Tineke Swieringa has art exhibition at Chiropractie Brussee
From February 3rd until April 5th, female artist Tineke Swieringa, exhibits works of art at Chiropractie Brussee in Wateringseveld. She will show computer animated gouaches about reminiscence of childhood, observations and space in broadest sense of the word. On February 3rd the exhibition will be officially opened to those who are interested.

September 2007
New chiropractor employed
As of September 1st our treatment team is extended with Bob Bonnemayers, who recently returned from the UK. Like the other chiropractors in our practice Bob studied chiropractic at the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic (AECC) at Bournemouth University in the UK. He also is a graduated physiotherapist and has a large affinity with sport, tennis in particular. Read more about Bob Bonnemayers.
Chiropractor Thomas Soeters will be running a practice in Bergen (NH) as of September 1st and will therefore have his days at Chiropractie Brussee reduced by one. This day will now be covered by Bob Bonnemayers.

Surgery for hernia not indispensable
Recently published research from neurosurgeon Wilco Peul (MC Haaglanden, The Hague) in the scientifically renowned journal the New England Journal of Medicine states that early surgery of sciatica resulting from herniated lumbar disk has no benefit over conservative non-invasive treatment with respect to cure rates. A group of patients who were surgically treated had similar pain scores and recovery rates as untreated patients (95%) after one year of follow-up, although recovery after surgery was more rapidly. The conclusion of the study was that surgery is not a prerequisite for recovery from sciatica.

We are happy to give an informative presentation to other disciplines (GPs, physiotherapists, remedial therapists and for example foot therapists). In addition we give presentations to companies about the possibilities of chiropractic and the positive cost-benefit analyses.
